”Hello…?” a small voice echoed in the long tunnels, but was met with silence.
Once again it had managed to small creature in form of the third sister of the famous triplets to get lost. She wasn’t really sure how she had ended up down in the sewers. She was pretty sure that she had been dreaming not long ago, but now it didn’t feel like it anymore. She was stuck in the sewers she was pretty sure, since it sounded like the world was above her. From time to time she could see small glimpse of figures above, but no one seemed to be able to hear here.
The stair to the man hole above her had rusted away it seemed, and the small pieces which was left, she didn’t dare climb. Not that she was very safe on her feet either, since her sisters always helped her do all the hard work. So now Liadain was stuck beneath ground, dressed way to lightly and nicely for a trip in the sewers. The Lolita dress only went to her knees and was one of her summer dresses. The fabric was light and even her shoes wasn’t fit to any kind of adventure.
She was too frightened to move to fare away from the little light of salvation, and just stood there helplessly starring up. The only light provided was from some old lamps, but didn’t give a very cozy feeling over the place. And the longer she stayed down here, the more scared she got. At first she seemed to do okay, but then she started shivering and then tears started filling her eyes. Then her chest started to tighten as her heart began to beat faster. She crumbled together, drawing her legs tightly against her chest, hugging her teddy closely, trying to even her breath. She was sopping lowly, looking up the man hole once again, hopping that someone would look down finding her.

Company and food were both scarce in the sewers. While Croc had chosen this location for the former reason exactly, the latter often became an issue. A man's got to eat. Today it wasn't too bad though. Sometimes you'd be lucky.
Today, was one of those days. One of the drivers working for the slaughterhouse in the industrial quarters, had apparently had a little too much to drink, and unloaded a whole truck into the harbor. Lots an' lots o' pork for Killer Croc. He was only a little sad he couldn't bring more of it home. It'd eventually rot, and while he didn't believe himself to be a prestigious food critic, everybody had their limits. The meat he -did- salvage though, was tied up in a big sack, slung over his shoulder.
He yawned drowsily as he walked down one of the familiar tunnels. He wasn't really tired. Maybe a bit bored? Back in the days, when he had his own gang, he'd usually daydream about being left alone entirely. Nowadays, he miss those times. But heck, there was no going back to that. Not like this.
Then, something was amiss. He stopped and turned his head about a bit. Some strange sound was coming from a part of the tunnels he rarely ventured into. Way too small quarters for his taste. But that sound was rather intriguing. He didn't really feel hungry, but whenever something disturbed his domain, he'd have to go take a look. Any good king keeps track of his kingdom.
He turned around a corner, and stopped on the spot. The thing were the size of a child, and just laid there in the pale spotlight. Atleast this area had lights. He began walking closer, slowly, prepared to evade a possible trap.

It was a little bit warmer lying curled up, though the ground wasn’t that warm. This was though all she could do, since she didn’t dare venture further into the sewers, where she would definitely get lost. This was the lightest place as well, so the only one making her feel just a little bit safe. She wasn’t good with darkness… It reminded her to much of her nightmares and of the bad times. Perhaps she would never be found by her sisters or John?
A loud sob left her, her shoulders shaking from the silent crying. The teddy was hugged as closely as possible, squeezing whatever life in it out. She didn’t like being down here alone, it felt like this was the end of the world. She wanted to get out.
She stood up again, gathering her courage before trying to climb up the rusty parts of what was left of the stairs. She only managed to get up one step, before it broke under her tiny weight. She fell on the ground end first, still able to stare up at the way out. It was just being there mocking her lack of other possibilities. Making her eyes fill up with even more tears, before she started sobbing less quiet than before. She pulled her knees into her chest, staring up at the lid as if it had betrayed her.
She open her mouth slightly, about to say something, but swallowed the words again.

It was strange, standing there in the dark, watching the girl. He really should've walked away. There was no idea in eating her, she was way too small for a proper meal. And honestly, there wouldn't be much fun in hunting her. Yeah, just turn around and waddle off like a sensible crocodile. She'd die eventually, and no one would be any wiser about his whereabouts. After that episode with the journalist, he'd have to lay low for a while.
She fell down from the ladder. It was really quite pathetic really, watching her tumble around like a newborn. Was she, crying?
He sighed lightly. He couldn't just leave her like that. He could hardly believe he'd grown so soft. Back in the days, he'd have shot her. Boom, right on the spot. Well. Guess when you're a monster, you have to cling to your little piece of humanity when you get the chance.
"You won't get out like that" he grunted, still staying in the shadow. Wouldn't want to startle her too much.

It startled her when a voice suddenly spoke to her out of nowhere. She didn’t expect for someone else to be down here, but it was lucky that there was. Sadly she wasn’t as happy as someone might be in the tunnels with her.
She stumbled on her feet, running over behind a pipe hanging down. It didn’t hide her very well, but she seemed to find some kind of safety behind it. She looked towards the dark with a scared expression, still with tears flowing down her cheeks. It was really a miserable sight to look at her, standing with that timid look over her, shaking from the cold and the fear. The thought of someone trying to get close was not like by her at all. She didn’t like humans at all, they were frightening and… Really scary.
Obviously this situation was less liked than the other, but she didn’t know what to do. It was not like she could defend herself and even the option of running wasn’t available. Though being down here seemed like the only way to stay safe from people, it wasn’t something she wanted either.
One again she started sobbing and sniffling, being in deep despair. For one she really didn’t know what to do, and uncle chuckles wouldn’t turn up to safe her either.
She looked at the dark where the voice had come from, and raised her teddy ready to throw it, but couldn’t do it in the end despite trying to convincing herself to do it. There was really only one way… ”H…” She tightened the grip on her teddy, fighting to make her voice come forth. ”H…..elp…” it was nothing more than a mumble, but it was all that she could muster.

Waylon rolled his eyes slightly in the dark. Did she seriously plan to throw a teddy bear at him? He held back a grunting laughter, thinking i'd be a little... Inappropriate, looking at the current situation. He cleared his throat, trying to sound a little less hulkish than usual, not really succeeding. "You're... Lost, eh? I... Know the way out. I can show you."
He walked a little closer, still staying out of the light. Faintly, one could start to make out his shape. He was obviously out of human proportions, having to lean forward a bit due to the low ceiling. His breath was heavy and hoarse, echoing off the walls.
"Just, uh... Don't freak out."
He stepped into the light. Nearly four meters tall crocodile mutant was revealed. Back covered in green mat scales, reflecting the light emitting from the little bulb hanging above him. Eyes small and yellow. And his teeth so wicked and crude, they'd probably have a fairy tale dedicated to them, had anyone seen them. In a way, you could say the girl was lucky. He was nowhere near humanlike.
He opened his mouth, almost whispering;"You can come out now. I won't bite or anything. I've already eaten." Honestly, it had sounded much better inside his head.

Her eyes were locked on the dark, and she still seemed to mistrust whatever was in there, despite being offered help. She really had little faith in humans. She still didn’t really trust the person in the dark, even when she could see the inhuman shape. It was only when the true form on the person was revealed that everything changed.
All of the sudden a relieved smile found her lips. She ran out from her hiding place and looked like she was about to try and hug him, but stopped herself looking thoughtful almost embarrassed. Not that it was a feeling she was capable off, but she still remembered it to be rude to hug animals like that. They tended to be scared away by her, and she didn’t want that. It was a strange animal though, she didn’t know any animals and definitely not any crocodiles which could speak.
”Uhm… Thank you mister”She said in a quiet tone, smiling shyly, hugging her teddy trying to stay polite as she had been taught.

The most snake species around the world is capable of unhinging their jaws, all the better to swallow and devour whatever unfortunate prey that would fall victim to their poison or strangling. Extremely useful in many situations. The greatest snakes known, are famous for devouring entire cows! Killer Croc knew this, having read up on reptiles. Sadly, Killer Croc had hardly inherited any traits from snakes, but you gotta give it to the guy. He sure gave it his best.
If he had been able to unhinge his jaw, it would probably have hit the ground with a loud *clonk,* shattering a tile or two. Never in all his years had he met a person that wasn't startled by his intimidating appearance. And this sure as shit was the first time anybody called him mister. Awestruck, he stared at the small girl, hugging her teddy. That weird smile of hers was more unsettling than anything he had ever encountered in the sewers. And yet, she was just a little, lost (and strangely polite) girl who'd gotten away from her family
"You're... Uhm... You're not... Scared?" he questioned, rather goofily. Putting the sack 'o meat away, he kneeled down before her. Although he was still towering way above her head, it just seemed more natural to have conversation at this level. Who are you?

”No? she replied not sure why she should be scared of him. He wasn’t human so he couldn’t be scary. Only humans were scary. ”You are just a big teddy!” she giggled, looking up at his face, with her strange colored eyes. The iris was a crystal blue, but the white in the eye was pitch-black. She would have looked like something from a horror, if not her little timid being made her not very frightening.
”I’m Liadain, and who are you mister, not that you look like a mister but more like an animal… But animals can’t talk can they?” she asked in a curious tone stepping closer to him, trying to examine him. Perhaps there was a string attached to him which made him talk, but it didn’t seem like there would be space for something like that. Unless he was made like John, but there wasn’t others like John as far as she knew.
She carefully reached a hand out, touching his arm, and withdrew her hand quickly staring at her hand, and then touching him again. ”You are freezing! If only I could give you something to warm you up, but I only have my teddy” she said quietly while looking at him with concern. She didn’t like the fact that he was cold, because she had been told that you would get sick if you got cold..

Suffice to say, Killer Croc was baffled. Constantly keeping his eyes on the little creature, he tried to utter something atleast semi intelligent. Alas, he kept getting interrupted by the girl. "Bu-- No, i... I'm not really an-- I am suppose to--" He was pretty close to snapping at the girl, telling her to shut up, but he couldn't really make himself. He just sat there, huddled, in a dark and dreary corridor, with a little girl almost climbing around on him. He wasn't sure if he felt like a mountain or a zoo attraction.
He opened and shut his mouth a couple of times, trying to choose his words with better care. Not that it really mattered, though. He doubted he could say anything that'd scare her off. For a while, he just sat there, enthralled by those strangely compelling eyes. For a moment, he could have sworn he saw his own reflection in the dark depths. Strange, strange girl.
He cleared his throat again, speaking slowly but carefully. "I'm... Waylon" he said, almost proud by his own simple accomplishment. First sensible thing he had said during this awkward scene. "Why are you down here? It's not a place for a kid."

She turned quiet and sat down on the ground, looking up on this giant creature. He seemed friendly, well he only could be, he wasn’t a normal person right? People sure were weird things and scary.
Her eyes started to fill with water again as she looked down, hugging her teddy closely. ”I… I got lost… I don’t know how I got down here… So I don’t know how to get out…” she started sobbing again and hid her face in her teddy, suddenly feeling scared again. ”And now I can’t go home, and my sisters or John can’t help me because they don’t know where I am!” she cried, hugging her teddy tightly, her whole body shaking in fear again. She didn’t look like a person who was used to be alone much.
”Can you help me Mister Waylon? Or are you lost as well?” she asked in a sad tone looking up at him again, her tears running down her cheeks, seeming more sad about his situation than her own-

Croc scratched his cheek a bit while listening to the girls story. He usually did this when slightly perplexed with the situation. How does anybody end up down here, not knowing how it happened? Amnesia would be a pretty rare sight in one so young. Then again, something about her was rather odd. That'd be, everything, actually.
"I can show you the way out. I live down here, so i don't really get lost." He rose up, snatching the sack on his rise back up, swinging it over his shoulder again. "Just, uh, stay close. There's not a lot of light down here." Looking the girl up and down, he pondered. Why would anybody dress like that? Especially if you dunno where you'll wake up in the morning. Now, if HE suffered from amnesia, he'd be prepared. Proper boots, mobile phones, and maybe a grenade or two. Honestly these youngsters.
Shit, he really had gotten old, thinking stupid stuff like that. What the hell would he use a cell for? Gurgle at whatever unfortunate soul picked up the hotline?
"You don't know where your sisters are? What about your parents?" he asked, tilting his head faintly, eyeing the teddy bear in her arms. Wasn't much of a bear. That thing would never eat anything.

"Why do you live down here, isn't it unpleasant? she asked in a worried voice.
She ran a little closer to him, trying to stay as close as possible, without getting in the way. Though it was a little bit hard since she couldn't see anything, and it didn't help that she really wasn t very good with dark. She was used to bad things happening in it, but she was glad that Waylon was with her. He could fight off anything bad, but she wasn't sure if he would, though he seemed like the type who would safe her.
"My sisters are at home. No well Illona is at the hospital, but Kaeira is home. And my parents aren't home. My dad is never at home, I don't think that he likes me" she said quietly." "Do your parents know that you live down here? Don't you get lonely?" she tried keeping up with him desperately wanting to cling onto him, but wasn't sure that it would be safe.

"I kinda like it down here. It's quiet. It's better, for somebody like me" he said, walking onward with heavy steps. "And uh, well, to bad about that family thing. No, my parents don't worry about me. I don't have any."
Truth be told, he probably did have a father somewhere he didn't care much about. Being left with your stinking drunk aunt kinda makes the whole 'family value package' seem less appealing. "I'm used to being alone."
Soon, they had entered the familiar area of the sewers again. Turning around, he saw the little girl staggering after him, almost fumbling about in the darkness. He held an arm down towards her, nudging her gently. Climb on up... You'll just fall into the water, wobbling around like that.

”But don’t you get sad, especially if you don’t have any parents to care about you? I know I felt sad when my dad left…” she tried looking at his face, but obviously she couldn’t, so she just kept walking like a ducking after it’s mother.
”But isn’t it sad being used to it… I don’t think you should be alone, you are a nice person…” she said while concentration on keeping walking on the little sidewalk. Suddenly stopping as she saw his giant hand streatched out towards her. She smiled shyly and tired stepping up on his hand, but couldn’t keep her balance. So in the end she just sat down in his hand, which was big enough for her to sit in. It was kind of weird. ”thank you…”
She held onto his wrist, being afraid that she might fall down, tough she was pretty sure that he was strong enough to hold her. But still… Would he be fine, or would it get to hard? ”You are really nice Waylon, I hope that we can meet again…” she looked up at him with an innocent smile.
