The Ace was sat in a casino, games of chance were a good was for him to spend his time. The sweetness of the win and the bitter of the loss were both connected, two side of the same coin. the chance of defeat vs the chance of victory. However James was bored with such stakes as the easily stolen money he was using now. there was no challenge in this, no big loss, no life changing game. so he upped the stakes.
Moving to the center of the crowded casino James chose a young man in a nice suit. "hello. My I couldn't help admiring your lovely suit." The wicked Ace said, his words brimming with charm. The foolish young man felt nothing different in James' words, no-one ever did, but he smiled, more pleased by the comment than he normally would have been. The seeds had been planted
"Thank you friend." the man answered. James was so nice, the thought.
Then the ace continued, whispering confusing words. "you know I've seen the way you play these games, so well, you almost have them beaten. soon you'll have cracked them i swear" He complimented the man on his meager winnings. the man's mind becoming quite fuddled.
"That means a lot coming from you sir, you honor me with your words." The youth responded, mind now at least temporarily full of fluff.
"i Don't understand why are you so angry friend? Please, take your eyes of my gun, don't shoot those two over there who stole your luck. If you do you'll regret it and end up Killing yourself." James faked his worry and shock, planting those thoughts into the victims head. It would have been safer to charm a little more before attempting this but the fact it had worked so well on the obviously weak willed man and the odds of victory gave James the confidence to try. if it failed he would simply leave if luck did favor the youth.
The young man had never felt so angry at another than as his friend who's name escaped him spoke. how dare those thieves steal his wins and luck. wait. He was looking at the lovely green gun, those pigs deserved to be shot. No-one stole from Warren Soend. In a second the gun was in Warrens hand and two shots had been fired, both killing the blokes Warren thought were thieves.
As the two had crumpled up Warren had been wracked with guilt, he had just wasted two lives through selfish desires and assumptions. "I'm sorry." The young man whispered and shot a third bullet through his temple, which then hit a second person killing an elder woman, one of many running round in a panic after the shots were fired.
Picking his gun up James grinned, Four kills. not only did it work he got an unlucky bystander too, what were the chances? now that was a good bet. James grinned as the panicked masses began to realise someone had locked the exit and that there were no windows. The Ace was gonna have fun tonight, since he held the only key. He just wondered how many luck was smiling on enough to let them leave not dead.
