Vic sat on the couch with her legs folded Indian style and a .45 Magnum, on safety and unloaded, in each hand clicking them at the TV saying 'Pew! Pew' as she did it. She was at Harvey's place. The morphine had been in her system for several hours now and she was very... juvenile. She was wearing one of Harvey's old GCPD t-shirts with his last name printed on the left side. It was big enough to it went to her mid thigh so she didn't have to sleep in her jeans and what not. Her clothes were folded neatly on the inn table next to the couch. She still wore her bandero hat and boots, her spurs were on top of her clothes. Her right thigh had a bandage wrapped round it covering her stitches, as was on her shoulder as well but under her shirt.
She put her guns down and took a drink of what she believed was a whiskey and coke, but in reality was simply a coke. She was watching Dirty Harry with Harvey. She chuckled and laughed through the movie probably finding it alot funnier than most people would.
Vic would lean over to Harvey after setting her drink back down. Her hair was down. She usually had it pulled back or pinned up some how all the time, he'd yet to see her with her hair down, it was long and went well past her shoulders. She didn't like it getting in her face while she worked. The movie was starting to roll credits.
"Bull-Bull, where's my fiddle?"
Before they took off from the park she insisted, quite persistently, that he needed to go get her fiddleout of her backseat. She usually kept it back there just because she liked to have it close. Poor Harvey had to wrestle her guns away from her earlier, he took all of her ammo, too.
She saw her fiddle case on the other side of Harvey's side of the couch. She reached over him and grabbed the handle pulling it to herself. She pushed herself off from leaning over Harvey and then began to open the case. She pulled the fiddle and bow out and rosened up the bow. She took a moment to tune it and started walking out to the balcony. She left the door open and began to yell down at the street below.
"LISTEN TO THIS, YANKEES!"
She began playing a nice pretty tune, and it ought to be pretty given how iconic a song it is. Any decent, loyal Texan would recognize the song in an instant. It was a true classic of western and swing. She was, for once this evening since her morphine shot, very focused on something.
Eventually she began singing the lyrics when the right chord came along.
"As I look at the letters that you wrote to me, it is you that I am thinking of. As I read the lines that to me were so sweet, I remember our faded love."
Vic had a rather deep and gruff voice most of the time. When her mood changed it seemed to have different sound. It could soften and become more feminine. Her singing voice, however, was very rich and resonant. She sounded like the love child of Patsy Cline and Ray Price. Her fiddle playing was also very good, she would normally admit that she wasn't as good a fiddle player as other things she knew how to play, but this particular song was near and dear to her heart, so she was very well practiced.
"I miss you darlin; more and more every day, as heaven would miss the stars above. With every heartbeat I still think of you and remember our faded love."
A reprise of the fiddle part came through. She played it sickeningly well and flawlessly. It wasn't a very hard song to play, but a badly timed note would ruin it. The pace changed for the next verse of lyrics.
"As I think of the past and all the pleasure we had as I watch the mating of the dove... and it was here in springtime that we said goodbye, I remember our faded love.
I miss you darlin' more and more everyday, as heaven would miss the stars above. With every heartbeat I still think of you and remember our faded love. And remember our faded love."
Another reprisal of the main fiddle part would be executed flawlessly once again, but at a different and slightly slower pace than before. Once she finished she removed the fiddle and bow from resting on her left shoulder and held them at her sides as she looked out over Gotham, staring. The morphine was finally starting to wear away. She would be back to her old self by morning, but probably in quite a bit of pain. She continued staring over Gotham, the sun was bunking down for the night, the sky was cast over with a cinnamon color, appearing warm and welcoming when it was colder than it appeared to be.
"This town ain't so bad, Harvey. It's just... cold."

Although Dirty Harry was a movie that he would call 'post classic' he tried to ignore the fact that it was in color, but since it was a cop movie, and Bullock could relate to the main character Callahan, he allowed himself to enjoy it.
He chuckled when Vic did her 'pew pew' at the tv screen and doubly grateful he had taken away her ammo. He could only imagine what the home repair bills would have cost. He was fair to her as well and skipped the hard stuff in his drink and partook of the same Coke 'and rum' that she had.
He'd never heard her play the.....fiddle as she called it, and he was taken aback a bit. there was many sides of his partner he'd never seen, and he just let it all soak in. She was tough, but she was right Gotham is cold. He began to wonder if she really fit into the dark city, and it's corruption and ongoing thirst for the blood of innocents. He knew one thing. She was incorruptible, and he knew that's why Gordon brought her in. She made him think back on his own past and he felt somewhat ashamed of it.
"That it is, partner. That it is."

Vic was about to say something to Harvey when her phone went off. The ringtone was "The House of Blue Lights" by Asleep At The Wheel.
Vic walked back in, setting her fiddle and bow back in the case and grabbing her phone. She answered it with a smile.
"Hey Ol' Man. Yeah, yeah, well I'm sorry. I hadn't thought to call about it. No, don't put Momma on the phone-Hey Momma. Yes, Momma, I know. I'm sorry. I am fine. No. No. No. No. Yes... Momma, it's just a flesh wound........... Fine Momma. Again, I'm sorry I didn't have someone call. I think they gave me a morphine shot. Yeah, well I just watched Dirty Harry with Bullock. Yes, Momma, the EMS guys wouldn't let me go unless I was released to someone who could keep an eye on me. Momma, I told you, Bullock is my partner here in Gotham. He's a lieutinant. Um, I only seen him carry one gun. He's from Gotham. No he ain't married. No kids. MOMMA that ain't none your business! Yes Momma, he's right next to me. Momma, don't you think that's a little strange-OKAY Momma, I'll ask him- Yes, momma, he fed me."
Vic looked at Harvey, putting her phone to her chest. She looked a little embarassed and slightly drained. Throughout the conversation with her mother she was walking about Harvey's apartment playing with the sleeve of his jacket on the coat rack.
"Sorry, but mi madre wants to talk to you. She might be nosy, she probably just wants to ask what happened. She's mad because I didn't call them about getting shot today, but apparently Gordon called a few minutes ago and informed them. I swear I'll owe you one if you just talk to her. Daddy might get on the line too, so watch out. You don't have to talk to her if you don't want to. I'll tell her you're in the bathroom or the shower or something."

Harvey drew a blank. He never had to talk to a partner's parents before. He had the look of a deer in headlights and started blubbering incoherently as he was completely flabbergasted. Eventually he was able to think more clearly.
"Uh......okay. Sure. I think."
He was still trying to process why her mother asked if he was married. he stood up and walked over to her and held his hand out. It was shaking a little and he'd already started sweating.
"She's not going to get personal like, is she?"

Vic beckoned Harvey to sit down and then put her ear back to the phone before handing it to Harvey.
"Okay momma, he said he'd love to talk to you, here he is."
She leaned to Harvey in a whisper. "If she puts Daddy on the line then she likes you."
Vic finally handed Harvey the phone. She squeezed his arm letting him know she was here for him. Poor Harv.
Vic looked just as worked up as Harvey. Her mother didn't make her nercous, she was just a very exacting woman. She was an FBI agent, afterall. She forgot to tell Harvey that as he took the phone from her.

Harvey sat back down and took the phone and spoke into it,
"Uh...h-hello? Oh, I'm doing good, no complaints. She caught a bank robber single handedly, got tussled up some, an.....well sortof. I was at th' bank n'....oh...uh she's hanging in there. She was a little had t'manage at first, and was shooting at th' tube earlier. No ammo 'course. I...huh? oh....uh. no family in the city, no. My mother's passed on, but have three sisters..."
He gave Vic a look.
"Well, I don't know about.....oh uh. No. not married. uh...ma'am. Yeah...uh I mean yes ma'am, uh, she told me she wasn't. Naw not that I know of....well she seems lady enough...heh ok I, uh, won't tell her....I....oh ok."
He covered up the phone. "When yer better and can toss 'em back. Drinks are on you f'r this..."
He put the phone back to his ear waiting for her father.

Vic watched Harvey, his face seemed a little whiter than before. After a few minutes of watching him and listening to his responses she put her hand over her mouth. She looked like she was nervous or concerned, but in reality she was working hard not to giggle. It was funny to see him like this.
When he finally put his hand on the phone and gave her that look and those words she couldn't hold back and snorted out a laugh. She quickly put her hand back over her mouth, a tear coming out of the corner of her eye as she was deperately trying not to laugh out loud while her parents were on the phone.
When he took the break to say what he said to her about buying the drinks she realized her mother was probably putting her father on the phone. That was a very good sign. Daddy was very friendly and warm. Harvey would probably find that Vic sounded a lot like her father with the way she spoke and thought aloud.

Harvey heard his father come on, and tried to steel himself for another interrogation.
"Heh....funny one sir....no problem. Well, I do my best. It's a hard town, but I grew up 'round here so I know how it works. I've been a cop goin' on... 21 years I think. Yeah seen a thing or two. Well she's a good partner herself. She watches my back....I watch hers.....her back...er her uh...protect her too I meant. 'course. Oh yeah love it. Maker's Mark. I swear by it. That she is, sir. I will er. won't. er....yes..... thanks and you too. 'night."
He shut the phone quickly and tossed it at her. Immediately getting up and on the search for his private stock.
"I need a drink...."

Vic smiled to him as he tossed the phone at her and she started giggling. She put a hand on his shoulder and followed him as he got up. Before he went after his liquor she tugged on him to make him turn around to her.
"Thank you, Harv. I am so sorry, Momma is Momma, y'know. At least Daddy is a little more laid back. No matter how much policin' I do they still worry, just how they are. Daddy takes in in stride a little more than Momma ever did. Thank you, so much, I know it was nerve wracking."
Vic still had morphine floating about in her head, but she was showing signs of coming around. However, either she was being a lot nicer than normal or she was just doped up, she had only done things like pat Harvey's shoulder or shake his hand, but now she hugged him. Her right cheek was on his chest and her arms around him over the top of his arms.
"You're the best, you know."
She stayed there for just a second or two longer than he would have probably expected and then let go of him and looked up to him.
"At least they like you. Trust me, it could be a lot worse, sug..."

Harvey gave a sideways smirk and shrugged in agreement. "Yeah I coulda been yelled at f'r lettin' my partner get shot."
He took out a glass and looked her over and went ahead and took one out for her. "You seem ta be loosin' yer buzz. Yer gonna need this real soon, doll...."
He poured them drinks and offered her a glass.
"'specially since yer coke & rum was a virgin."
He gave her a grin back as if to say 'sucker.'

Vic's expression went from warm to fire storm in heartbeat. She took her glass from him and punched him with her right arm in the bicep of the arm of which wasn't holding a glass.
"You rotten, mean old Bull, I can't believe you'd pour me a virgin drink. You think I'm some kinda-ah damn."
She took a swig of her drink as the sting of jarring her wound by punching him caught up to her. She downed the glass and set it down as she pu her left hand on her right shoulder. She gritted her teeth at him.
"Ass."

"Yeah be careful hittin' things for a while. You'll regret it later."
He laughed and downed his drink and poured them another.
"Y'know, you'll prob get yer first GCPD 'ccomidation from this. Gon' be a star for a couple days at ol' HQ. Don' let it get to yer head & all that."
He grabbed the bottle and walked over to the couch and sat down flicking on the oldies movie channel just in time to see the Creature from the Black Lagoon rise up out of the water. Harvey sighed as he watched.
"Don't make 'em like that used to..."

"Whatever, I just do what I do."
Vic took her next drink and sat next to Harvey on the couch. She sat there for a moment with him, focused on the movie, occasionally muttering something about him being an ass under hear breath. After a moment she felt herself getting cold. She got up and went to shut the balcony door she left open earlier. She went back to the couch and sat next to Harvey again. She slipped her boots off and curled her legs up under herself, she hadn't seen a blanket, so naturally she curled up next to Harvey a little closer, without really realizing it.
After a moment she still felt cold. She turned her head to Bullock as she reached for her drink.
"What is this? Alaska? It's cold. I'm from Houston, it's hot and muggy, I ain't got used to this Gotham air yet."

"You ain't seen our igloos? Be right back, don't want a little *cold* air annoyin' the tough Texan."
Harvey laughed as he said it all in jest and got up and went into his bedroom. He soon returned with a blanket unfolded it and wrapped her in it.
"A gift from Nanuck. Comfy? Anything else while i'm up for ya? hmmm.."
He went into his kitchen and brought back a box of cold pizza that had been in the fridge. He sat it on the coffee table and opened it up grabbing himself a slice of the pepperoni, jalepeno and anchovi. He held up the box and offered Vic a slice.

Vic just gave him a "yeah, yeah, whatever" when he walked away. She took the blanket her wrapped her in and tightened it around her shoulders.
Low and behold, the Texan's eyes lit up and she jumped from her seat when Harvey offered her a slice of pizza. She held the slice in her hand, looking at it as if something amazing just happened.
"Harvey-you beautiful man-Bullock. This. Is. MY FAVORITE KIND OF PIZZA!"
Vic stumbled into his lap half from excitement and the other half because jumping up suddenly with a wounded leg tended to weaken it. Maybe, just maybe her knees got a little weak to. She still held the slice in her hand and was looking at him with her left arm over the top of his right shoulder.
"HARVEY! I've never met anyone that would have anchovies and jalepeno on a pizza. It's like you-you-you I don't know! HOLY CRAP! This is like the best thing ever that ever has happened in my life pizza related, or I don't know I just-"
She took a bite of it and it was like it was the best thing she had ever eaten. She took a drink of her coke and whiskey and quickly set it back down with the pizza next to it and looked back to Harvey.
"I don't know what to tell you Harvey, but you have just touched my heart or something, Jesus it's warm in here."
