Character General Info
Name: Pamela Lillian Isley
Gender: Female
Birth Date: June 15
Age: 30
Age Looks: 28
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Appearance: Pamela stands 5'9" and weighs about 133 pounds. She has a slim build due to her fast metabolism. Her skin tone is now a light green resulting from her blood containing chlorophyl. The more exposure to the sun she has, the brighter her skin seems to be. However, Poison Ivy, like being able to reduce the intensity of her poison, can alter the shade of her skin-easily done with control and practice
Being a character that utilizes aesthetics to her best advantage, Poison Ivy has no shortage of different looks. Her first appearance shown her in a leotard with ivy bracelets, heels, and stockings. Now she can be seen wearing various leaves, usually in a bathing suit style. She finds it much more comfortable and breathable than wearing man-made clothes. She is also usually barefoot, finding grass more comfortable that cloth.
On her "attire" can also be found several live vines, which have various uses, such as whips, ropes, and extensions of herself. She can control the vines to grow or return when necessary.
Personality: Ivy is a manipulative, red-haired seductress. Often penned as an eco-terrorist, Ivy understands the power and beauty behind plant-life. She walks the line between bastion of Mother Nature and psycho Eco-terrorist. If Mother Nature were "God" than Poison Ivy would be her "Jesus."
She defends the defenseless nature of the world and truly believes in her cause. Maiming, mauling, manipulating, and mutilating are extreme measures, but it's nothing compared to what humanity's done to the world of nature. Ivy always sees the greater good as she punishes those who deserve it. Nature has done nothing but sustain and preserve humanity....and all humans have done is rip it down and used it for their own needs. She is just doing what is right, bringing balance to the world by destroying those who have destroyed it.
Poison Ivy can be seen like the choking vine: manipulating and slowly taking control of her victims, wrapping her fingers around them until the life slowly drains from them, or planting seeds of thought into their mind, letting it fester and blossom into trust from her smile, questioning other people.
Although she often uses plants to do her bidding, she knows that they understand what is at stake. She also ensures them that their seedlings with live happily and healthfully under her care.
Poison Ivy does have some sympathy and understanding under her cold, green exterior. She understand that not all humans are against the plant world and some innocent fall into the fray. Sometimes, on the rare occasion, that bit of her that she feels is her remaining humanity, blooms, helping those in need such as Harley Quinn.
Family: Deceased
Background: Pamela Lillian Isley grew up wealthy with emotionally distant parents in Seattle, Washington. She later studied advanced botanical biochemistry at a university with Alec Holland under Dr. Jason Woodrue. Isley, a timid shy girl, was easily seduced by her professor. Woodrue injected Isley with poisons and toxins as an experiment, causing her transformation. She nearly died twice as a result from these poisonings, driving her insane. Later, Woodrue fled from the authorities leaving Isley in the hospital for six months. Enraged at the betrayal, she suffered from violent mood swings, being sweet one moment and evil the next. When her boyfriend had a car accident after mysteriously suffering from a massive fungal overgrowth, Isley dropped out of school and left Seattle, eventually settling in Gotham City.
She began her criminal career by threatening to release her suffocating spores into the air unless the city met her demands. Batman, who appeared in Gotham that very same year, thwarted her scheme, and she is incarcerated in Arkham Asylum. From that point on, she has a kind of obsession with Batman, he being the only person she could not control. Over the years, she developed plant-like superpowers, the most noticeable being a lethal toxin in her lips; she is able to literally kill with a kiss.
Over the years Ivy had committed various crime in the name of plant-sustainability and protection. Eventually she decided to leave Gotham and inhabited a remote deserted island in the pacific. She turned it into a green Eden. However, the island was bombed, turning every blossom into a firebloom. Ivy narrowly escaped, but not before noticing that the planes that did their bombing practice on her island were from Gotham. She decided to return with a vengeance.
At one point, Batman traveled to Seattle to ascertain information on Pamela Isley's life before she became Poison Ivy. Here, Batman discovered that both of Pamela's parents are dead. When and why they died has been left undetermined.
At times, Ivy demonstrated positive, even maternal traits. When Gotham City was destroyed in an earthquake, rather than fight over territory like most of Batman's enemies, she held dominion over Robinson Park and turned it into a tropical paradise. Sixteen children who are orphaned during the quake came to live with her as she sympathized with them having suffered a traumatic childhood herself. She cared for them like sons and daughters, despite her usual misanthropy.
After quite a quarrel with Clayface, Ivy made a bargain with Batman. She would be able to watch and keep over her orphans in the exchange that would distribute produce for Gotham.
During this time, Ivy finds Harley Quinn, who had almost been murdered by the Joker, among the debris of the earthquake and nurses her back to health. The two have been best friends and partners-in-crime ever since.
After Gotham City reopened to the public, the city council wanted to evict her from the park and send her back to Arkham Asylum, as they were uncomfortable with the thought of a "psychotic eco-terrorist controlling the equivalent of 30-odd square blocks." They also mistakenly believed that the orphans in Ivy's care were hostages. The Gotham City Police Department threatened to spray the park with R.C. Sixty, a powerful herbicide that would have killed every living plant in the park, including Ivy, and do harm to the children. Ivy refused to leave the park to the city to let them destroy the paradise she had created, so she chose martyrdom. It is only after Rose, one of the orphans, is accidentally poisoned by Ivy that the hardened eco-terrorist surrendered herself to the authorities in order to save the girl's life. Batman said that, as much as she would hate to admit it, Ivy is still more human than plant.
Ivy, at one point, had taken up residency with Harley Quinn and Selina Kyle, calling themselves the Gotham City Sirens. Now, unfortunately for Ivy, she has taken to working alone. Better that than being betrayed again.

The morning air was was crisp and clean in Robinson Park, thanks to her beauties pumping pure oxygen around her. Poison Ivy's bare feet felt floated under the green grass, it was a beautiful spring dawn. The fresh dew still sprinkled the grass from the sunrise and it refreshened her heels and soles.
A form fitting green and white sundress fit snug on her ivory skin, but it was a bit uncomfortable to the woman who preferred the clothes nature provided her. Ivy was stable with in her wealth at the moment and hadn't committed a "crime" several weeks. She wanted to go on a morning stroll while staying off the radar until necessary. That is why this morning she donned a dress and changed her skin pigment to something more....human.
A zephyr blew through her red hair, almost blowing her straw sunhat off. She grabbed onto the hat and looked up at the sun, her green-rimmed sunglasses covered her eyes and partially masked her face.
As she glided through the park she caught herself smiling. She couldn't help it, today was going to be a good day. From the corner of her eye she caught the descent of a flying maple seed. Acer macrophyllum. The species didn't grow naturally in this part of the country but she had planted the sapling several years ago and with the help of her gifts, helped it grow into a beautiful tree. Ivy caught the spinning seed in her palm.
"Hello my beauty." she said sweetly. The seedling began to grow in her hand, its stem breaking from its shell. She knelt down and moved away a patch of dirt, covering the seed. "Looks like we're both going to have a good day." She gave it a soft smile.
As she stood up Ivy noticed a male bicycler speeding by. As he rode he threw a plastic cup from one of those horrible fast food chains. A garbage can stood several yards away. This...man....this....human didn't even have the decency to travel a few more yards on his bicycle to throw away a cup!! Now it was going to just SIT there in HER park. Soiling the ground with its manufactured diseases......not in HER park.
This man will know the wrath of Mother Nature.......
