Been a long time, Gotham, Stormy thought as the night settled in, the wind died down a little, and the rustle of the air moving through the trees quieted down a little. It had very much indeed been a long time. While she had been kept in the sub basement of a particularly plain looking building for the last decade she almost did not recognize the city. It was much different than she remembered it as a child. It seemed brighter then, less desolate.
Earlier, her day involved guns, tasers, tear gas, and every other weapon pointed at her as she escaped her now former home. Gotham nearly overwhelmed her. Shortly after escaping she began to realize that getting used being in the 'land of the living', so to speak, would take some true effort. Acquiring food, sleep, drink and the like just seemed to sound a lot easier in her head than getting used to to people again... lots of people.
Stormy was not exactly what one would call 'blending in' at the moment. She had only broken her chains a few hours ago, earlier in the afternoon, while the sun had still been out. Once dark started settling in she knew that her priority was to find somewhere to stay for the night. Having no money, no resources other than herself, finding somewhere to stay would mean finding a place secluded or abandoned. She only wore undergarments, a pair of shorts, a thin white tank top, and an all but shredded hospital type gown that hung off of her oddly. She had taken to hiding in a particularly inactive alley earlier in the day as not to attract attention to herself, the few who looked at her oddly before she found that hiding spot were enough to put her at unease.
Once the dark of night started moving in she felt a little more comfortable with walking the streets. People were still out and about, but there was less attention paid to her or her appearance. Also, Stormy remembered general locations her father had taken her to when she was young, but she had only spotted two of those landmarks earlier in the day. Once had been the museum and the other being Robinson Park in, virtually, the middle of the city.
Stormy didn't know what to feel at the moment. She was happy to be free of the prison she's known for the last ten years, but she wasn't joyous. Now that she was out she had to stay out and keep from getting recaptured, she was sure Lex Luthor already had agents scouting to locate her. She has never been in Gotham by herself, and here she was, the first time in her life, braving the city on her own. She would be able to keep herself safe, even if she had to bunk up in the nastiest, rottenest, dustiest old unoccupied building she would not hesitate to go to that measure, she had no one.
For the moment though, she needed to just walk around and explore. The bottom of her bare feet were pitch black, the rest of her looked like it could use a shower as well. Her eyes glowed a dim green. She may have looked like terror and hell, but her eyes were like beacons of hope shining light from a dark and forgotten island. Perhaps luck would increase even more for this Evening.
I SO VOW TO NEVER YIELD
