Simon started walking towards the doors with Abigail by his side, walking glamorously through the store. He noticed what Abigail was saying and tried to get eye contact with her but as shy as she is, she did everything she could to avoid his eyes. ''Well Abigail, you can give it a go if that’s what you desire.'' With a cheesy smile and sweet tone of giggling he replied Abigail.
Meanwhile they had been in the store, it had started to rain. Simon had of course forgotten his umbrella in the trunk. ''terrific'' he said with a tone of sarcasm. This could ruin the rest of the evening unless he might have a plan B. Simon quickly ran towards the car and left Abigail standing in the doorway. He wanted to show his gentleman nature and open the door for her. Simon stood in the rain, made it clear for Abigail he wasn’t quite fond of standing there but he did it in a good nature and for her.

”Either you are too kind hearted, or don’t believe me…” she replied in a warmer tone, with the hint of a grinning smile on her lips.
She looked up at the exclamation and then looked to Simon, trying to figure out what he was going to do. Clearly the rain had ruined something, but she was not sure what. But she hoped –At least a little- that it meant that she could stay out of people sight, so she didn’t have to show herself in this outfit. Though it was obviously a desperate thing to hope for, because the only thing that could stop Simon at this point, was probably if he or she got seriously hurt, and no matter how tempting it might seem, she was not going to hurt any of them
She kind-of ran to the car and got inside, brushing some of the water off her dress, and look at Simon. ”I would have let you stand in the rain, if not you have looked like a drowning cat” she said in a teasing voice, and seemed to have cheered up a little, after seeing the rather pitiful Simon in the rain. ”Could I ask where we are going?” she looked at Simon as she asked and tried to smile a little, in hope that it would help making Simon tell what was going to happen tonight. For a job-ish related date, this seemed rather weird, not that she really had tried one before, or maybe she had misunderstood something, when Simon asked her to go out with him.

Simon quickly shot the door after Abigail had entered his car. Standing out in the rain was not something he liked, more specifically he disliked rain. Instead of replying to her answer about him being kind hearted or he was kidding he just smiled and let her not know which the truth was. He quickly got behind the steering wheel to avoid becoming too wet by standing in the rain. When he entered the car, he noticed how curious Abigail really was. He looked at Abigail as he started the car ''that is going to be my little secret''
Simon drove the car to the designated spot, but without a GPS he got lost pretty quickly in this huge city. After have driven by the same bakery 3 times in a row he realized he should start driving another way, but as proud as he was he just kept his mouth shut. He didn’t want to reveal he had gotten lost because he found that embarrassing.

Instead of requiring an answer she just stared out the window. After a while she noticed that they had driven by the same bakery a couple of times and the area they were driving in seemed rather familiar after a while. She looked at Simon and got a feeling that he wouldn’t admit that he was lost. Abigail could probably easily guide him through Gotham if he just asked, but it didn’t look like he planned to ask. For a second she thought of offering him her help, but then she got his feeling that he wasn’t going to accept it.
She just sat there for a while before she finally found his stubbornness too much. She waited for a red light, before she leaned over to Simon, placed a gentle hand on his cheek, and turned to kiss his lips. She couldn’t help herself, but she really wanted to kiss him, and she thought that it was a good way to get his attention. ”I really wanna end up in the place you are looking for, but if you don’t ask for help we will never find it, and I will keep kissing you…” she said quietly and kissed him again before she leaned back, trying not to regret what she had just done. She was not sure if it was okay, but it was fun for her. ”So could you please ask for help, so that our date will not be held in the car” she smiled softly at him crossing one leg over the other. ”Well we could have fun in the car, but… ”

Simon was too focused on trying to figure where they should be going. He was tempted to pull out the map of Gotham he had stored in the glove compartment, but due to his stubbornness he refused to pull it out. When he reached yet another red light he felt the soft hands of Abigail touching the side of his cheek. He looked curiously at her but in the second he tried to get eye contact with her, she kissed him. Surprised by this unexpected move he got caught off guard and his face turned red because of the blush. He hadn’t been paying attention to Abigail so he hadn’t been able to notice if anything of the sort was about to happen.
For the first time in a long time, Simon didn’t know how to respond to a situation. She completely removed the ground under his feet and he had no idea what to happen. This was the first time since his wife had died that he had gotten kissed. A lot had tried but he had always avoided it one way or the other. But he had never expected Abigail to be the one that would kiss him. He hadn’t noticed anything of the sort; he hadn’t noticed her growing feelings for him. Could he have read wrong? No of course not, Simon was never to misread a person, but still his mind had gone blank. Not knowing how to respond he sat still and just stared at Abigail, even after she had leaned back in the seat.
The red light had already changed back to green. The cars behind them started to honk the horns which made Simon snap out of it. He tried to remember what she had just said but it all seemed a bit blurry because he hadn’t been paying much attention. ''No… I mean yes.'' His mind seemed like it had just been hit by a giant tornado. All his thoughts were flying around inside his head and he had no idea what was up and what was down at that moment. He quickly hit the speeder and looked at the road, trying to collect his thoughts again and stayed cool. He hit the speeder a little too hard, the car made a quick spin with the wheels as they departed from the intersection. ''So where is the Benephisto Restaurant?'' he did everything he could to avoid eye contact at that moment, his eyes was locked on the road. He had no idea what to do with himself at that point.

She looked back at Simon, trying to smile a little, but she couldn’t really get her will. Abigail herself had been surprised by her action, though it seemed that she handled it far better than Simon. Though Simon seemed totally at lost, she still couldn’t figure out if she had crossed a line. It would be a lie if she told herself that he was perfectly fine with it. The kiss had, had its impact.
”You have to continue four blocks down, then turn to the right, drive ten blocks straight on and then turn to the left and then it is down that road…” she instructed in a clam tone while looking out the window and directing with her hands. But it only took a minute or so before she was looking at Simon again. ”I’m… I’m sorry if I crossed a line… But I did say I would kiss you…” she said silently and looked out the window again. Obviously she wasn’t that proud of what she had done, but something told that she just couldn’t regret it completely. It was given out of a mix of wanting and curiosity towards what she could do. ”It wasn’t meant as anything special so don’t worry. And I hope it doesn’t ruing our evening together…? Trying to find an answer she looked over at Simon again, hoping that she could read what was going through his mind.
It wasn’t fair that he both treated her nice and just knew how to mess with her. It… It was his own fault! He could just stop treating her so nicely; giving her a nice dress, taking her out, trying to get to know her. Not many had tried anything like that, and it was starting to confuse her. A small frown showed on her face, and then turned to a sadder expression before she placed her hand on Simons, trying to smile to him in an apologizing smile.

Simon just stared intensively out of the front window, keeping his eyes on the road, while focusing on turning the right places so they wouldn’t end up getting lost again. He could hear Abigail started apologizing for what she did like it was a mistake and he could feel she tried to get eye contact with him. He kept his eyes upon the road but he still managed to answer her apology. ''you didn’t cross any line, you…'' Simon was still trying to think what happened so he couldn’t finish his sentence but after a long pause of silence he managed to continue his sentence. ''You just caught me off guard, that’s all, and no it won’t ruin our evening together, I promise'' he looked at her and smiled.
Seeing the beautiful face of Abigail and mixed with the events that had just occurred and his still confused mind, he started flushing as he tried to smile and look at Abigail. He quickly looked back at the road and focused at it like a truck was about to ram into them. He felt good, like there was something special about this girl, but he didn’t want to say it to. Not to anyone quite frankly, he was still carrying around the picture of his wife. He couldn’t move on, he just couldn’t but Abigail really made it hard for him not to. ''Just give me some time to actually comprehend what happened okay'' Simon said with a little laughter in his voice, he knew that it was kind of embarrassing but it was after all the truth.

She smiled weakly and looked into her lap, still feeling a little guilty. It was a nice feeling, but she wasn't okay with the his reaction. She would love to try again, but... She looked out the window again and fumbled a little with the edge of her dress. It still made her feel out of place, being all dressed up for something as simple as a dinner. Sadly it didn't seem like he wanted to tell why he had dressed her up like this. Did it really matter what she was dressed in.
One again her gaze turned out the window to stare at Gotham streets passing them by. Waiting patiently for them to arrive at the resturant, hoping that the mood would change a little. Well if it only came as a surprice it shouldn't be so bad, she hadn't crossed any lines. It felt like she had...
"So... You lived in England before Gotham, right?... Why did you chose to move here to?" she quietly asked, hoping to start a conversation. That was what was intented with this... Meeting...

Simon drew slowly down the street the Restaurant was located on. He wanted to make sure he found it this time, he recognized the street sign and he knew it was down the street somewhere. His nerves had calmed down once again and he was starting to be able to think straight. He looked and smiled at Abigail without flushing and answered her question.
''Well, I had an accident back in England which badly injured my knee; I became useless to the SAS and got fired. Without being able to be hired again, except by the British police force but they don’t seem to have much between their ears. During the time at hope, I thought I would try something new, in a new place. I contacted different police stations worldwide in search for a station that could use my abilities and viola. Here I am.''
Simon looked out the window at Abigail’s side of the car and noticed the name of the restaurant. He stopped the car just outside and nodded to one of the piccolo’s who instantly came to the car and opened the car door in Abigail’s side. Another rushed to the other side of the car where Simon had already exited the car and handed the car keys to the piccolo. ''We are here'' he smiled as he looked at Abigail across the top of car.

”Then you are almost over qualified for this job here, though I will say that I think someone like you is needed here” she said with a small smile and looked into her lap.
She looked at the piccolo, grapping his hand after a moment of hesitation and got out of the care. He led her a little aside so he could close the door behind her. Her eyes looked at the entrance for the restaurant and felt out of place, though that was probably the last thing you could say about her. Looking like a model, the piccolo who had led her out of the car, had his eyes placed on her. Though trying to be discrete, it was probably the last thing he was. His whole head was turned in his direction and a small satisfied smile had crossed his lip.
Her gaze turned towards Simon as he talked, and smiled a little, trying to hide her feeling of awkwardness. ”What a nice place…” she said quietly trying to sound excited, though she still rather would eat some… Normal place… And in some cloth she was used too. She felt like she was attracting to much attention like this. Or well she knew, because she had already found some people starring at her, though not the piccolo, which was probably for his own best. She would have hit him hard, if she had seen the expression on his face.

Simon walked to the other side of the car and took her hand like a true gentleman. Barely hearing what Abigail said and he tried guessing what she said. The piccolos were asking for tips while she was trying to be polite. Simon turned the piccolos down by not giving them any tips, they didn’t need them anyway he simply looked at Abigail and smiled. Hoping that this was enough to answer her question, else she had to repeat herself.
They walked inside the restaurant and were stopped by a waiter in the entrance. ''have you made any reservations, sir?'' ''yes, my name is Simon Sinclair'' the waiter briefly looked down at the sheet in his hands. ''right this way sir.'' The waiter smiled kindly to both Abigail and Simon as he showed them their table.
It was a table for two by the window. The view from the window was out into the park, which seemed rather peaceful and beautiful in these late hours. The waiter pulled out the chair for Abigail and helped her sit down. ''here you go miss Sinclair.'' Simon quickly realized what the waiter just had said to her and in panic replied. ''no no, you have misunderstood, we are not married or having anything going on between each other.'' His face blushed once again because of the waiter’s unexpected answer. The waiter looked at Simon and said. ''shame'' and then went to serve some other costumers.

She let her hand fall into his, and she followed him into the restaurant. Her eyes followed every step she took, trying to see every details of the place. It was so hard to believe that she was here. Fine places were something that she saw from afar, so this was unrealistic for her.
Her pulse was starting to heighten; she felt nervous, out of place and a little scared. What if she made a foul of herself, or she made a mess out of things? What if he started laughing of her? She really hoped that she could run away, though it would probably be impossible in these heels. Oh wait… Waiter… Shit, everything was alright.
She saw the table and felt like her doom was coming near, but still she walked towards it and sat down. Or she tried to sit down, when she realized that she wasn’t about to do it on her own. In an awkward manner she managed to fall into the chair in an almost elegant way, though looking a little bit weird while doing it. She knew that it had looked weird but before she managed to react to it her attention was pulled back to the waiter.Mrs. Sinclair…? ”I’m not his…” She stopped herself when she realized that Simon as well tried to stop this misunderstanding. And she was probably just as surprised as her cavalier by the waiters single word; shame. Her eyes turned back to the table when the peculiar man walked away, leaving her with a weird feeling. Perhaps a little flattered? She giggled shortly and looked halfway up towards Simon. ”Well that was unexpected… And a little weird” she said quietly followed by a little grin.

As the waiter had left Simon and Abigail behind at their table an awkward silence had fallen down upon them. Simon didn’t quite know what he should say at this point; the waiter had ruined the mood and made it all seem all awkward with this remark. Abigail tried breaking the awkward moment with a little funny remark. Simon giggled a little and smiled at Abigail. ''Haha, yes it was.''
Simon looked quickly down at the menu card. He thought it was a good idea to quickly come up with a subject they could talk about. He remembered what she had asked him in the car and thought it would be a good idea to return the question. ''Well Abigail, since you asked me on the drive here, I would like to return the question. What is your story?'' Simon had placed the menu card face down on the table and smiled to Abigail.

Hey eyes had fallen to the menu card, staring hopelessly at all the dishes. She had no idea of what to order, and didn’t feel good about using his money since it was expensive. It felt like pure theft just looking at what they took for the things in here. But a more uncomfortable matter was thrown onto the table, as a question about her personal life was asked.
”Well… I… I…” she smiled weakly and brushed a hand over the menu card. ”Well I was born and raised here in Gotham, and decided in a young age to become a police officer. The uniforms were cool and they helped other people you know… And even then I could see that the city needed someone to help” it wasn’t a good feeling to conceal the truth, but it was for everyone’s best.
”I honestly have no idea what is edible in here” she elegantly changed the subject in the most natural way she could think of. Dodging any incoming bullet about her past was appreciated, since it was only a matter of time before she screwed herself over. Especially with this guys perceptive skills, though Abigail was a great liar. But it wasn’t a big wish of hers to lie towards her partner, especially now when she knew that he wasn’t such a bad person

Simon noticed that she seemed at unease. The subject about her past seemed to be something she preferred to keep at herself. Something must have happened since she didn’t mention one thing about her past at all. Simon looked skeptical at her while keeping a smile upon his lips. He wanted to figure out more about her past, but he knew that it would just ruin the entire evening if he started interrogating her. This had to wait to another time.
The skeptical look on his face disappeared a few seconds after she had changed the subject and tried to talk about something else. Simon looked down at the menu card and smiled. ''Well what would you like to eat? I mean, if you don’t like what they have to offer here we can just as well find another place if that’s what you prefer, I just thought that we had to do this properly.'' Even thou he didn’t want to leave since they served some of the highest quality food in Gotham, he knew that asking into her past might have ruined the evening a bit and if a change of scenery would help on the situation, then so be it.
