I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES Stormy sat in a chair before Bullock's desk. She couldn't help but notice the messiness of his desk. She was a messy person like that, too. She remembered her desk when she was a kid always had everything in random places but she knew exactly where everything was. She had glanced at the desk of his partner nearby. She could see by the certificates on the wall behind it that his partner was very obviously from Texas.
She looked back to the desk of the detective. Her family attorney had been contacted earlier and was on his way to the station to confirm Stormy was indeed Stormy. The attorney had been her mother's college roommate as well as best friend. She had been a rock for her father when her mother died giving birth to her. Also, visiting with Aunt Grace, as she called her as a child, would be nice. It would be weird too though.
Stormy was waiting for the detective to gather her file as well as match her fingerprints as she had been made to provide fingerprints before she could go up to the Major Crimes office. The chair she sat in was made of wood and was occasionally creaky. Reminded her of when the scientists tested her strength and will one week by leaving her tied her and chained her to a chair in bare room claiming she would only be allowed food or drink until she could break herself free from the chair.
For a few days she refused, telling them she would participate. A whole week went by before she finally ripped herself free when they had slipped water and a sandwich under the door to tempt her. They tried to pull it back away but she ended up breaking the hand under the door. Luthor had apparently found it funny that she broke the hand that fed her, however he probably felt differently now.
The news was running nearby on a TV. The remote was nearby and she turned the volume up, something familiar catching her eye. It was a video of her on the hood of the car that chased them two hours ago. The detective could never be seen in any of the video. Someone had filmed it from their cell phone, it started as she was yanking the man out of the car. The voice of the person recording it was saying things like "HOLY SHIT! OH MY GOD!" and then at the end of the video "Well, another day in Gotham."
The reporter explained that no one knew who the woman in the video was. The reporter also said that when they called police to inquire about the incident that a spokesman said that they had no comment due to the delicate nature of the situation involved. Stormy could tell by the reflection the sunglasses cast back at her that her eyes were glowing bright. She turned the volume back down on the TV and sank a little in her seat.
Crap. Great. Everyone in Gotham has seen my face. Then again, maybe if this blows up big enough it would keep Luthor off my tail for good. Yeah, he wouldn't dare touch me with a ten foot pole if this got huge. she thought to herself.

He entered his office with a huge file and plopped it down on his desk. Several loose papers from other cases fluttered to the floor after the loud thump on his desk and wisp of air disturbed them. In his other hand was a cup of coffee which he sipped on and sat it down. He began to sit then stood back up.
"Uh...we have coffee...and donuts if you want some. I can get it if you do."
He was very eager to get this case closed. He hoped he would get her to agree to protection and possible relocation and ID change. He had sent his partner Detective Valentine to get the paperwork started on that just in case she agreed.
"Oh and cream and sugar we have too."

I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES Stormy looked to the detective and gestured to the tv as she turned the volume back up. They played the video of her again. After watching the video for a minute or two she looked back to the detective.
"What the hell is a youtube?" she asked him, genuinely curious and unaware of what it was.
She shook her head and then leaned in to the detective. She gestured for him to lean in so she could speak quietly.
"Look, we both know that Luthor is involved in this, but I'm already allover TV. It's not that I don't want to have Luthor prosecuted, I do, but you and I know without hard evidence I'll just sound like some crazy person. Make this big and say my captors were unknown. That way I can keep my name and Luthor wouldn't dare come near me. There's a lot to what I went through, Detective Bullock, and frankly sir, I don't want to be stuck having to think about that stuff anymore. I don't want to live in fear of someone always follow me. We do it this way, that son of a bitch can't lay a hand on me, he's smart. He'll know that me not naming him will be a signal for him to back off unless he wants to go to jail. He probably doesn't know what evidence we could have against me, he won't take the chance of calling the bluff."
Stormy realized that had been the most she had said at once in a long time. She would never trust many people, even the police, but she had to, to a degree, they were the police, after all. She just hoped to God that the detective would see her logic in the matter. She may had been disconnected from the world for ten years, but she understood that the television had it's power as well as newspapers. Luthor was smart enough to leave her alone.
" On another note, there's a lot more to what happened than I care to share. Certain information could cause other parties to get involved. My father was a gentic researcher and had apparently angered Luthor because my father refused to partake in research that violated his ethics. To put it plainly, I am a lab rat and I don't want nobody but nobody bothering me, Detective. If I spend another moment of my life around someone wanting to measure results and pump shit into my blood stream I would sooner slash my wrists and call it done."
She blinked under her sunglasses, her eyes were still bright and starting to almost irritate her. She ran a hand through her hair as she leaned back again, away from the detective. She knew she was basically asking him to lie for her, but she had a feeling he was the kind of cop that could understand all the bullshit that could be avoided if they did things her preferred way.

Bullock looked at her for a second and then to the tv then back to her and gave her a nod as he sat down.
"So that's a no to the coffee and donuts. Believe me, kid I know you've had some rough times, and if there's something not related to this case you don't wanna talk 'bout then that's up ta you. Your father had files on Luthor an' we can get him...if we found those files. We believe he hid them, and we also believe Luthor hasn't found them either. I need to know any places that your father would determine to be so safe no one could find them."
He leaned forward, his tie falling into his coffee but he didn't notice.
"We can protect you, get you someplace safe, a new identity where no one would ever bother you again. I personally think you need the help. You may be able to leap out windows and stop a couple wiseguys, but Luthor has big guns, and we all seen 'em. He may lay low and try to get you from th' shadows, or he may just come at you with all he's got."
"Oh....and youtube'll rot yer brain stay away from it, kid."
He sat back down and felt his soaked tie fall on his shirt he sat up quickly with a wtf? look on his face and quickly removed it and threw it in a desk drawer.

I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES Stormy shook her head. Though, coffee and donuts did sound good, she never had coffee before. There was no telling what it would do to her.
"No. i do not want a new identity. I do not want protection. I do not want any of that. I don't know where my father would have kept those files and if I find them then I'll give them to you and you can process Luthor all you like, but I know Luthor, he would find a way to spin it. He's smart. I just want to be me, I have been locked in a room for so long that I had days I could not remember my own name. I am Stormy Evening, no one else."
Stormy stood up and ran her hand through her hair thinking. She then sat back down and looked squarely at the detective. She took her sunglasses off and her glowing green eyes peered at him.
"My father's research is what made Luthor do what he did. I will not tarnish his name to take down Luthor. He has the best attorneys in the country, I'm sure. I do not want to ever look at that man again and if he decides he wants to come after me I will kill him myself. I will not take a new identity, sir, I should not have to change my name out of fear. I was born in this town, I do not want to leave it. Believe it or not, detective, it is the safest place I can be right now."
She put her sunglasses back on and leaned back once again in the chair. She slouched, putting her hands in her pockets. She was stubborn, but she was free to be stubborn. Being able to walk on city streets was such a treat to her, she wouldn't trade it for the world. Nothing would move her to take the detective's suggestions.

Her glowing eyes finally revealed to him did give him a slight start. After she clarified that his suggestion was not an option he stared at her a second and his senses came back to him.
"It's just an option. Nothin' we can't make you do, an' I'm sure you can manage for yerself. Now.....I need to know what happened when you disappeared and where you've been."
He frowned a bit they were on their own when it came to the files, and the Bat was not to be had to help track them down. One thing was for certain Luthor knows she's in Gotham and he will now double his efforts to find them, and so would the GCPD need to do. He made a mental note to discuss this with his partner. With any luck maybe one of Batman's brood could help. He took out his pen and started jotting down notes.

I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES Stormy looked at the detective, she didn't want to tell him everything, mostly because she didn't think it was safe and because she didn't know where to start. The beginning was probably best, however she would be a bit selective. Then again, the detective may better understand how vital it was to take the route she wanted to take. She took off her jacket, hung it on the back of her chair, and then finally took a long deep breath before starting.
It had been a bright day. Stormy was a fourteen and as well adjusted as a young teen could be. She was riding her bike home from school with a gym bag strapped across her shoulders. Her dad didn't like her riding her bike too much around town, however, since school was so close to home and she was fourteen he allowed her to ride the five city blocks home by herself. She had always thought of her dad as a little over-protective, but what teenage girl with a good father didn't think that?
She had not been much interested in dating, to her father's relief, as she was so vigorously involved in her studies and fencing that she had little time for such matters. She was happily riding home from school, she had just started her freshman year at West Gotham High. She lived in the upper west side just two blocks away from City Hall. She was only two blocks away from home when a black van pulled up beside her very quickly. As she tried to divert away from the van she crashed her bicycle into a sign. A few men in black masks quickly snatched her. When she tried to scream one put a hand over her mouth. She bit him, breaking the skin through his glove. He growled and threw her in the van, slamming the door closed. She tried to scream again as they shut the door but the quickly taped her mouth shut and five of them began to hog tie her very quickly. Ters streamed down her face as she tried to scream and kick but they were much too strong for her.
Within half an hour they were carrying her into the basement of an old building in the lower east side. A black hood was yanked from her head and she found herself in a padded room. It looked a lot like her room back home, similar furniture but none of her personal things. The walls were made of glass. She would live in that room for the next ten years.
The first time they gassed her room through the vents to knock her out she would later wake up strapped down to a bed. Scientists were all around her with clipboards writing things down while one had her hooked to an IV and a green liquid was dripping. She tried to break loose but she felt unusually weak. The scientists were discussing things however she had earplugs in her ears to keep her from hearing what they were discussing.
Every other week she would wake up like this. Most of the time she had spent by herself in the room with scientists occasionally telling her something. They had a tutor come to see her every day and teach her. For the first few months she would refuse to listen to her tutor on the video monitor, but after a while she could not help herself, she realized that she could never help herself to get out if she didn't at least try to learn. Overtime she had gotten used to her captivity.
It wasn't until two years in that she started to feel the changes in her strength and other new abilities. She had seldom ever been compelled to exhibit her pheromone release ability. That had been something she never mastered due to a lack of socialization. She had never been seduced or attempted to seduce anyone, thus she would never have a use of it. As her strength had increased she had become more prone to breaking things and once nearly broke free, however, an emergency containment system kept her from that.
As she got older she had showed signs of being severely effected by her lack of socialization. Some scientists wagged their fingers in the faces of the others in an 'I told you so' fashion. The ones who required her to be isolated completely outweighed those who felt the lack of human contact would have negative effects on Project Eve. She would study, it was the only solace she had, learning kept her from going crazy, she felt, because she had something to focus on.
Her life remained relatively the same for the next five years, but as her more base instincts were developing along with the rest of her, into womanhood she became increasingly restless. She needed human contact, it was in her biology, everyone's biology, to need people, a life, a mate. For the last three years she had become stronger very rapidly and more restless. She had only known that she was altered to hone abilities of both Bane and Ivy because when she finally broke out she had knocked out, seriously injured, or killed anyone in her way of accessing the information she wanted. Everything was a blur but she remembered finally holding the lead scientist, one of her father's former colleagues, by his throat and getting him to answer her questions and tell her what she wanted. She remembered tossing him into a wall and never looking back to see if he was alive or dead. Within just a few minutes after that she would emerge into the Gotham sun and see her hometown once again. Nothing was more liberating than feeling the warmth of the sun. It was a day much like the day they had first grabbed her.
Stormy had told the detective the basics of what happened. To her it was all dull and past memories. She did not want to think about the details of some of the methods of research they used on her, not because she wanted to protect anyone, but because she had tried so hard to forget them that recalling them would only make the wounds nastier.
After about forty five minutes of explaining the most of her story to the detectives she finally put her hand to her forehead and put her elbow on his desk.
"I think I'll take some coffee, I've never had any before."

Harvey wrote down the information she relayed to him as quickly a she could tryinghis best to not miss anything vital. His memory was sharp and later he'd look over his notes and add anything she had said that he missed writing down. When she requested the coffee he nodded and set down his notepad & pen. He left the office briefly and returned with a styrofoam cup of the hot drink along with some sugar and cream.
"I drink it black, but most rookie drinkers use cream & sugar. It's hot too so..."
He sat back down at his desk and looked over his notes.
"Now, did you ever see Luthor or hear his name mentioned during your.....?"
He gave a wave of his hand not knowing teh right word to use without sounding uncaring.

Valentine had eventually made it to the station. Harvey called her asking her to come in. He apparently was in the processing of closing a long cold case. She knew the feeling. Also, Vic was never one to be irritated by being asked to come back into work after shift unless she had been out drinking. She hated having to come in with whiskey or something on her breath. Harvey had called her when she was in the shower. She nearly fell on her ass in the shower when his ringtone came through on her phone. Vic had set his ringtone to be the saxophone rif of the Peter Gunn theme, it fit his look and image.
"Yeah, sorry, Bull-Bull, I am nekkid and in the middle of a shower. Give me half an hour and I'll be there, but don't be surpised if I'm still in my bathrobe, ha. Alright, see y'all in a bit, sug.
Vic quickly finished her shower and dressed herself. She didn't get in her normal work giddup. She wore a pair of denim shorts, GCPD t-shirt, and hoodie. Inside her hoodie her .45 Megastars were holstered under her arms. On her feet were a pair of blue, silver, and yellow nike running shoes. On her hip, like usual, was her badge. It wasn't her work clothes, but it would half to do on such notice. Once the boots were off, they were off.
When she finally did make it up to the station she walked in seeing Harvey with a dark haired girl in sunglasses talking to him. She got to her desk and began looking for the paperwork he asked her to grab when she got to the station. Apparently, this kid was some sort of disappearance case from ten years ago. She noticed the girl was in all black which struck her odd. She looked as if she was in mourning with all the black.
When they paused for a moment she put her hand forward to the girl. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail and she was wearing a GCPD ball cap, unlike the usual stetson or bandero.
"Hi, I'm Detective Vic Valentine, I'm Detective Bullock's partner. I was never involved in the original investigation, but I am here to assist you and my partner in any way you deem fit, kiddo."
She rolled her chair from behind her desk to behind Harvey's. She beckoned Harvey to scoot over just a smidge so she could sit down. She had taken the paperwork and a clipboard from her desk. She pulled a pen from her hair and began to write down the date and time on some blank paper.

I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES Stormy decided to try the coffee the way the detective liked it, black. She stirred it a bit, taking heed to his claim of it being very hot. After a moment it was cooled enough for her to try it. She, instead of sipping at it like a normal person and drinking it over time, just chugged it. She put the cup down and sort of swished her head to the left. She closed one eye and scrunched up her face in reaction to it.
"Might have to try it with a little sugar and ream next time. That stuff tastes like chalk."
Just as the taste started to subside another detective came in, the one that had the degrees she noticed on the wall earlier. She was a decently tall a very attractive blonde woman. She shook the woman's hand when she introduced herself. She waited a moment for the lady to get settled in next to Bullock before continuing.
"Yeah, Luthor would personally come check on me, talk to me. He was a bastard. He would stand behind the glass and they'd light him up so I could see him, otherwise the glass always looked like a mirror. But i have nothing to prove any of it so it's useless."
Stormy was starting to get impatient and frustrated. She just wanted an ID and a social security card, her Aunt Grace would have that, most likely.
"When is the attorney getting here? I'm sure she'll be able to help. I hope she's bringing a notary public with her or something. I want my records, an ID, and access to anything my father left behind."

Harvey looked at his watch as he scooted over as requested by his partner.
"Yeah she is taking a while....kinda worries me a bit."
He looked over to Valentine trying to not let his gaze linger on her legs. he hadn't seen her in shorts and those legs were magnificent and went on forever.
"Uh, maybe we should check up on her."
He got up from his desk and brought in 3 coffees one for everyone, then grabbed his phone leafing through his papers for a number for the lawyer. He began to wonder how safe the lawyer was as well, and her Aunt. They know she's shown herself, and if Luthor works like a typical mobster they'd go after those with closest ties to her since they couldn't get her.
"We'll get to the bottom of it."

Vic was looking through some of the files as the girl spoke to them. She came across photos of the girl's bike laid over on the ground, her father's apartment, and etc. She began reading through the original case files that Harvey had filled out himself. She shook her head a little at his handwriting. It wasn't terrible, just very Harvey. She looked up for a moment and noticed Harvey glancing down at her legs. She stomped on his foot. Not too hard though, just hard enough to get his eyes off her legs. In her head she was smirking and giggling, but her eyes were another story.
When the girl spoke of her attorney and then Harvey expressed concern over the woman she stood once again.
"I'll go downstairs to makesure she makes it in alright. It took me a minute to get into the garage, there seems to be some reporters around the station. It seems your stunt on the hood of that car has gotten a lot of Gothamites curious. Oh and Harvey, I should probably tell you that the rumor out there is that she is a secret operative. Might want to get a statement out soon."
Vic walked out, taking her coffee, to go downstairs to makesure the girl's attorney would make it in ok past all the frenzy outside. Oh was Harvey in for a media storm this evening.

I AM HUMAN( and i need to loved )JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES
Stormy nodded to the detectives after Valentine decided to go keep a look out for her attorney. She started to add some sugar and cream to her coffee, curious to taste the difference. It hadn't been long before she started to feel the effects of the first cup. She was bouncing her leg, her knee tapping the Detective's desk constantly. As she started to take a sip from her next cup she placed a hand on her leg to steady it, realizing the detective might find it annoying.
Not long after Valentine left to go watch out for her attorney she turned to the sound of the door opening, her Aunt Grace came through the door. She woman rushed over to Stormy. Stormy stood turning to her. Grace wrapped her arms around the girl tightly, one of her hands on the back of Stormy's head pressing her head into her shoulder. She had dropped her briefcase beside her before hugging Stormy.
"Oh Stormy! I knew when Bullock called it had to be you! I just wish your father had lived long enough to see you safe and sound."
Grace backed away from stormy, holding both the girl's hand. She looked Stormy over.
"My god, you look exactly as your mother did. You should be 24 now? The resemblance is uncanny, child."
Stormy smiled to her but got right down to business.
"Aunt Grace, I am very happy to see you too, but we need to get down to this. I need my records and anything Papa left me. I know he would have left me something.
Grace nodded, understanding the girl's urgency. She pulled a chair from nearby and sat next to stormy. She placed her briefcase on the detective's desk and began pulling various folder's out. She handed stormy her social security card, her personal records, a letter from her father and a set of keys.
Stormy looked at the key's she recognized them as her father's key ring.
"Dad's keys?"
Grace nodded to Stormy once again. "Technically the house is still in my name, but he wanted it to be left in my name so it would not be sold in the case that you would turn up again after he had passed. Anything other than what I handed you should be in there. I only go by it a few times a year to make sure it is undisturbed. There is a security system installed and the codes for that are in the first folder I handed you. If you want I can go with you and show you how to disarm and arm the alarm."
Stormy nodded to her.
"That's fine, but after that I think I would like to have the night alone to, you know, look around. I need to just have some time to myself before I can help you any further detective, but I don't want you guys coming in and searching. I know my father and if he left something for me to find I would be the only one to be able to figure it out."

Harvey was keying in information on the computer when Stormy's knee started tapping his desk. He watched a stack of files shift ever slowly with each tap and grateful that she stopped before they toppled.
He figured they were safe so continued typing away only to look up when her aunt entered, instantly recognizing her from past interviews he simply gave her a nod of greeting then bolted to protect his papers when she placed her briefcase on his desk, rescuing the leaning tower just in time.
He listened as they talked in case something he needed to know was exchanged. The keys peaked his interest a bit and when Stormy requested some time alone he nodded.
He looked out his office door for a sign of Vic as he readjusted his delicate file stacks. He spied her and waved for her to come back.
He looked to Grace and sat down once satisfied that his tower would stand.
"She's refused our protection which is perfectly her right. I gotta say though I'm not comfortable with her, or you, for that matter running around with Luthor about to be hot on yer trails. I'm....fairly confident that Stormy can handle herself. What about you?"

Vic had followed the woman in. She hadn't been gone but for a few minutes before Grace showed up. After confirming the woman's identity she followed behind her back into the Major Crimes area where she and Harvey's desks were.
Vic sat down in her seat again as Harvey was balancing one of his towers of paper. She listened to the exchange between Stormy and Grace and then what Bullock had to say. It was in the better interest of both women to take some protesction, however she could totally understand why the kid didn't want to be bothered with all the ID change and such.
"We can offer for you to stay in a safe house if you'd like. We understand you have to work and dow what you have to do and can provide a bodyguard until the danger has been eliminated or severly damaged."
That was Vic speak for 'we'll beat the shit out of someone, hopefully.' Vic tapped her pen on her ear for a moment, thinking about this case. As she sat there next to Harv she turned her head to him and stared at him for a moment before speaking again. As she thought for a moment, she turned her head suddenly back to Stormy.
"Hold up a minute, kid. I thought Lex Luthor was based out of Metropolis? How did you get all the way to Gotham? "
